We had our National Honor Society induction ceremony and senior celebration today. We also honored the current juniors who were inducted last year. What a great group of kids!!
Crawford County past student James Davis came in to talk with the 2nd year welding class to teach the students about welding pipe. James discussed how he had started his welding career by working in the corner booth that still functions in the Welding classroom. He has now been welding for his career for over 15 years. He showed students the basics of pipe welding with pipe that he had donated to the program. The students have since been working in teams to weld the pipe for another avenue and type of welding.
Today, we are excited to congratulate Tristan Mercer. Together with Southern Indiana Education Center's Project Protege, Shireman Construction came to CCHS to interview numerous excellent student candidates for an apprenticeship program in Construction. In the end, only one student could be selected. We are proud to announce that Tristan accepted the apprenticeship position and will begin working with Shireman on June 1st. We know Tristan will do great things and are excited about the opportunities this opens for him!
Congratulations to our seniors obtaining the Indiana College Core with 30+ specific college credits they have taken during their high school career!
Congratulations to Elizabeth Gonzalez, Mylie Dearborn, Addison Lahue, and Mackenzie Abner for obtaining their CNA certification with the CCHS Healthcare pathway. We are excited how this pathway has grown and look forward to many more opportunities for our kids!
Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Aiden Sommerman for making it to STATE in the science competition of the Academic Super Bowl. Aidan won the regional competition, placing 5th overall all regional competitions. He is headed to the state competition on May 10th.
Riley Setser and Colorado Fields also competed and received 1st in the English regional competition, but just missed the state competition with a placing of 13th overall.
Awesome job!!

CCHS Families: Our school has partnered with Smile Programs- the in-school dental program provides dental care from licensed professionals. The care includes a dental exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride and sealants when necessary, and in some cases, restorative care such as fillings.
All insurance is accepted including Medicaid and CHIP. For those without insurance, a low-cost self-pay option is available. Even better, dental care is usually at no cost to you.
The clinic will take place at the Middle/High School on Thursday, April 3. Consent forms have gone out and need to be returned by Friday, March 14. There is also an online option to register for the program.

Congratulations to our theatre department on their Spring play and especially our seniors whose final performance was fantastic! Mrs. Minton had a wonderful time with this group of seniors over the years!
Sometimes things don't go as planned and you miss a ton of rehearsal due to weather. But as they say...The show must go on! Come support these hardworking students this weekend who are putting in the extra hours this week to make a great show!
