I’m proud to share that WCE has successfully completed the Literacy Cadre for the 2024–2026 academic years! 📚✨

This experience has been a valuable opportunity to strengthen literacy instruction, collaboration with other educators, and gain new strategies to support student growth in reading and writing. We're grateful for the learning, the teamwork, and the chance to continue improving how we serve our students.

With end of the year Field Day, Field Trips, etc., we wanted to remind everyone of the school's Sunscreen Policy:

SUNSCREEN
According to Indiana Code (SEA 24) students may possess and use sunscreen while on school property or at a school-sponsored event
or activity. Sunscreen must be topical, non-aerosol sunscreen that is FDA approved for the purpose of limiting ultraviolet light-induced
skin damage. School personnel may NOT assist students with the application of sunscreen without written parent permission. Students
may not share sunscreen with others and must only apply to themselves.

Good Evening WCE Families,
Parents and/or guardians MUST contact the school office regarding sick students. Emailing or texting the teacher is not sufficient as that information may not be communicated to the WCE office staff. We cannot excuse an early pick up without a doctor note, unless the school nurse or office staff has called to have a sick student picked up. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Principal Allen. Thank you!

Good morning WCE families. Pictured are the items currently in our lost and found. Please let us know if you recognize anything. Some items have been in the lost and found since the start of the school year. It is always a good idea to label your students jackets and coats. Having the students name inside of their clothing makes it easy to return their belongings to them. Any item that has not been claimed by Spring Break will be donated.

Congratulations to Mrs. Wiseman's 2nd grad class! Students are getting great results in her classroom! Mrs. Wiseman has been laser focused on explicit phonics and fluency instruction since August. Mrs. Wiseman uses the data to target instruction and intervention for each of her students. She has also included the whole-class intervention, Partner Reading Paragraph Shrinking, as a way to provide daily intentional reading practice.
